Depending on the trip you plan to make and how much time you have, you can fly to Dar es Salaam or to Zanzibar.
From the americas the usual flight is a 2-step flight stopping in Europe (first flight: America->Europe then second flight: Europe->Tanzania).
The airline groups with the best prices (we have tried them all and can recommend them) are, in no particular order:
- KLM + AIR FRANCE + KENIAN
- SWISS + LUFTHANSA
- ETHIOPIAN
- TURKISH AIRLINES
The following gulf airlines also fly to Dar es Salaam, but my preception is that they cost a bit more:
- EMIRATES
- QUATAR
- ETHIAD (partners with Alitalia, British Airways, AirBerlin)
The cheapest you will usually find is Egyptian Airlines, but from all we’ve heard, we would not recommend it.
